Raising awareness for those affected
by bullying, depression, and mental health issues.

LIKE MOST MINNESOTA KIDS...

...I grew up skating on the pond behind our house and fell in love with the game of hockey. Even today, the game of hockey continues to give me so much. I've been fortunate to play at so many levels - youth, high school, college and the NHL. It's allowed me to meet so many great people in cities across the United States, Canada, and around the world representing our country.

I have been extremely blessed to have a solid foundation of love and support from my family and friends. I've had so many great teachers, coaches, and teammates that have helped mold and shape that foundation. They constantly remind me to put in the hard work, to not taking anything for granted and that anything is possible.

Throughout my NHL journey I've been able to step away from the game to spend time with children and families who need love and support. Continuing  this journey, I hope we can shine more light on Mental health Illnesses and the stigma surrounding them. I also have a special place in my heart for military veterans and their families. For what they have to endure on a daily basis - including but not limited to depression. My goal for Shine A Ligh7 with your help is to raise awareness for those affected by bullying, depression, and mental health issues.

Shine A Ligh7 was created over time through my experiences and relationships. It was born when I realized just how important and meaningful it was to me, wanting to make a difference in the well being of children's lives. Those dealing with depression, bullying, suicide and overall mental health illness.

My passion for music, especially The Rolling Stones, became the inspiration for our name through their song, "Shine A Light".

Hopefully you will join me to help Shine A Ligh7 on all kinds of mental health illnesses and the circumstances that have caused them to surface.

"May the good Lord shine a light on you, make every song you sing your favorite tune!"

Washburn Center

Washburn Center for Children is the state’s leading children’s mental health center, caring for a wide variety of children’s needs such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. One out of five Minnesota children will experience mental health challenges, yet only 20% get the help they need. Washburn Center believes a child’s mental health is as important as their physical health. When children with social, emotional and behavioral challenges receive early intervention, they have happier childhoods, are less likely to fail academically, drop out of school or become involved in the juvenile justice system.

ConfidencE LEARNING CENTER

Confidence Learning Center is a 501c3 organization that receives no state or federal funding. Thank you Shine a Light7 for your support!!  Our Program is supported by individual donors, fraternal organizations, service clubs, the community and successful fund raising events.  "Camp Confidence is the best thing in the Brainerd Lakes Area.  In a few short days, these kids receive a lifetime of memories.  I'm proud to be associated with it. "stated long time supporter, Myron Kujawa "Over the years, I've personally witnessed the miracles that take place regularly at Camp Confidence.  The 'campers' are people of all ages with developmental disabilities, who are given the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of outdoor activities, building self esteem in the process.  Camp Confidence is a one of a kind place that changes the lives of campers and their families forever." remarked  Al Lindner from Lindner Media Productions.
